Honors mentors are selected each spring to serve as guides for the Honors and Scholars Programs and life at UT and Knoxville. The Honors Mentor Program is a program designed to help new students navigate the transition to university life with ease, and it is available to all incoming honors students. Mentors are a vital part of the honors community and help make a new student’s transition to life at UT easier and more welcoming. They do so by answering questions and sharing information about life in honors programs and at UT.
Over the summer, new students get to know their mentor as well as the rest of their mentor group (usually around 15 students). Once students arrive on campus, their mentor is available to escort them to Honors and Scholars events, clue them in to entertaining activities, and answer any questions they may have.
