Quileute Nation Cultural Immersion Trip

Honors & Scholars is excited to offer a cultural immersion trip to La Push, Washington. La Push is a tiny fishing village on the Pacific Cost of the Olympic Peninsula that has been the home of the Quileute people for millennia. The trip will incorporate cultural exchange activities and various projects. The trip will be facilitated by a team leader from third-party company Xperitas and accompanied by Ms. Hunter from the Honors & Scholars Programs.

Possible Activities include:

  • Making a meal to share with the Elders
  • Attending a Drum Circle
  • Exploring Hoh Rainforest
  • Attending an evening bonfire on the beach with traditional story telling
  • Participating in a project chosen by the Quileute community

This trip will run during the Spring 2019 Mini-Session from May 8-15. The program fee is dependent upon the number of trip participants and ranges from $1269-$1539. The program fee includes airfare, lodging, ground transportation, and most meals.  Student must be in good standing in an Honors or Scholars program to apply.  Apply using the form below.
