Tristan Hightower

Hometown – Farragut, TN

Tristan is a graduate of the Chancellor’s Honors Program and the College of Arts and Sciences. He majored in Political Science with a departmental honors concentration, and his thesis evaluates the Tennessee Promise Program. In the Summer of 2015, he was funded by the Office of Undergraduate Research in coordination with the Department of Political Science to study the effects of amicus briefs in the Supreme Court. He spent Fall of 2015 studying abroad in London and traveling independently throughout Europe.  Tristan has served on the Honors Council Events Committee, as an Honors Mentor, as an Honors Ambassador, and as the Student Vice President of Phi Kappa Phi throughout his time at UT. In addition to his work at the University, he interned for US Senator Bob Corker in his Knoxville office and with the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in Washington, D.C.
