Biography

Laura Gamo serves as the Graduate Assistant for the Chancellor’s Honors Program.

Ms. Gamo’s responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing student engagement programs, academic lectures, and film series in collaboration with university faculty and staff from various academic units.
  • Maintaining updates to program website, course management system, and student e-portfolio system.
  • Assisting in new program and academic development, student engagement, and student activities

Ms. Gamo is a Master's student in the School of Advertising and Public Relations, and a recent graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Having double majored in Public Relations and Global Studies in undergrad, her research interests include the role of nongovernmental organizations and social/digital media on policy decisions around the globe. In her studies and in her personal life, Ms. Gamo aims to serve the needs of diverse students and individuals in the surrounding community; encouraging a greater consideration and understanding of various world views.
