Jack Larimer

Economics and Political Science

Jack is majoring in economics and political science with a minor in public policy analytics. He hopes to combine the skills learned through his degree with his experience in Knoxville university-assisted community schools to pursue a career in K-12 education policy. Specifically, Jack wants to explore policy that uses schools as the foundation of development in low socioeconomic communities. He supplements his interests in service and policy through the Student Government Association, Student Alumni Associates, and Leadership Knoxville Scholars. Outside of school, Jack enjoys horseback riding. His former job as a riding instructor was part of the inspiration that led him to pursue a career in education policy. Additionally, he likes to read about the U.S. presidents as a way to bolster his understanding of political history and its ramifications on current policy.
