Hannah Parks

Hannah Parks was a major in Spanish with a concentration in Hispanic Studies and a minor in Secondary Education. For her senior honors thesis, Hannah pursued research regarding sex education trends in comparative cultural contexts.

In summer 2011 Hannah spent three weeks in Dubai where she was a substitute teacher at the American School of Dubai. During her time at the University of Tennessee, Hannah has helped organize fundraisers for Redeeming Hope Ministries, served as a student leader in Vols for Christ, and has served as an Honors Ambassador. One of Hannah's favorite aspects of the HSP was the opportunity it provided her to "learn in the company of a diverse group of eager scholars who challenge her to think in new ways and consider things she otherwise would not have considered."

Of her recent trip to China with her class of Haslam Scholars, Hannah says that she "feels privileged to have had the opportunity to learn in the unique cultural setting of China and from such gracious hosts as the great scholars at Tsinghua University in Beijing."  Immediately following graduation, Hannah began a Master's degree in Secondary Education at the University of Tennessee.
