Growing up in a rural agricultural community alongside the Mississippi River, Catherine saw the importance of agriculture in her daily life. Because of this, she majored in agricultural communications with minors in political science and international agriculture and natural resources. Her past observations of how water affects farmers and their communities led her to research the potential causes of water poverty in Tennessee. Catherine has had the opportunity to be a part of two study abroad programs. While different, each experience expanded her global perspective within the agricultural field. By studying abroad in Scotland and the Dominican Republic, Catherine was exposed to her new love for international work and travel. She also enjoys playing tennis, obsessing over any dog she sees, and trying new local restaurants. Catherine hopes to utilize her passion for agriculture and interest in policy to attend law school to study environmental law.
