Carrie Ann Stephens

Professor of Leadership Education and Graduate Coordinator

Biography

Dr. Carrie Ann Stephens is a professor of Leadership Education and graduate coordinator in the Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communications. She teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses in leadership development. In addition, she developed the leadership concentration for both the undergraduate and graduate program.  

Her research interests include teaching and learning; supervisory leadership, women in leadership, and leadership techniques that improve student learning and development. Dr. Stephens has published several referred journal articles; presented at numerous regional and national research conferences; been recognized as the Distinguished Leader from the Association of Leadership Educators in 2014; recognized as the Outstanding Educator (10 years or less experience) by the University of Tennessee, Knoxville; has served as PI or Co-PI on numerous grant proposals; and has established an international student teaching center in New South Wales, Australia.
