Assistant Director, Honors Leadership Program

Biography

Ashton Cooper is the Assistant Director of the Honors Leadership Program. He has taught in the Honors Leadership Program since its inception as a Graduate Teaching Associate in the Educational Leadership and Policy Studies department at UT before joining the Honors & Scholars Programs.

Ashton is passionate about the pursuit of scholarship, and encouraging students to develop their scholarly identity. He believes that the pursuit of knowledge is a lifelong endeavor and that as leaders, students who commit to that endeavor will be beacons of their global communities.

Originally from Houston, Texas, Ashton enjoys cooking (especially barbeque) and spending time with his wife, baby girl, and pets.

Education

Ashton received his PhD in Higher Education Administration in 2020 from the University of Tennessee. He obtained his B.A. in Marketing and Non-Profit Leadership from Baylor University and his MPA from Texas A&M University.
