Graduate Teaching Assistant, Student Engagement
Alex Pellegrino works with the Honors & Scholars Engagement team as a Graduate Assistant.
Her responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the planning and implementation of Honors Seminars, community service experiences, and other events to promote student engagement
- Serving as the staff leader for Honors VOLBreaks
- Assisting in the advisement of Honors Ambassadors
Aside from academics, in her spare time Alex enjoys reading, hiking, and cinema. In Fall 2020, she will be teaching a section of University Honors 101 entitled "Film Studies 101."

Alex majored in politics with a concentration in legal studies at the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas. She also received her master’s in criminal justice from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas, completing a master’s thesis on ritual elements of capital punishment and their social control purpose. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in sociology with a concentration in criminology at the University of Tennessee.
