The Honors Leadership Program was created to seamlessly integrate leadership courses and leadership experiences for high-achieving students at The University of Tennessee. There is no other honors program in the country that allows students to intentionally study and practice leadership in a dedicated honors community.
Through the Honors Leadership Studies Minor offered by the Educational Leadership and Policy Studies department in partnership with the Center for Leadership and Service, Honors Leadership members will learn both the art and science of leadership. In campus leadership experiences, HLP students will dive deeper into their passions and further discover their leadership identity. Since HLP is a cohort based program, all of these experiences are completed within a community of leaders, which will help students make meaning of their personal leadership. Through this four-year leadership journey, leadership scholars will illuminate their legacy which will serve as a guiding light at UT and beyond.
Students in the Honors Leadership Program will be well equipped with both leadership knowledge and skills. They will serve the UT campus well through leadership positions in student organizations as well as the greater community by being an agent of positive social change. HLP students will truly embody the Volunteer spirit by giving light to others through their leadership experiences.
All my best,
Meghan Perez, Assistant Director
