Seeking Faculty for 2018-2019 CHP Faculty Lecture Series

We are seeking faculty to present topics of interest in lecture, discussion, or workshop format for the CHP Faculty Lecture Series in 2018-2019. Past topics include a mindfulness and meditation, conflict management, mandatory vaccinations, video games, diseases associated with wild bird feeders…you name it!

Often presented to an audience of about 25 students, these lectures serve as extracurricular academic experiences that expose our students to academic material and encourage our students to learn about subjects beyond their major field of study. We ask that faculty members address their topics to a broad, general audience since our students come from all majors. These lectures can also take the form of moderated discussions or workshops.

Typically, faculty lectures take place at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday evenings.

Past faculty lectures have included:

  • “Embracing Opportunities: Conflict Management and Difficult Dialogues” presented by Dr. Courtney N. Wright
  • “Race, Racism, and Nonviolent Resistance” presented by Dr. Judson Laughter
  • “Techonomics: Entering the Virtual Age” presented by Dr. Lee Martin
  • “Cultural Diplomacy as the Soft Power Engine of Public Diplomacy” presented by Dr. Candace White

If you are interested in taking part in the CHP faculty lecture series during the 2017-2018 academic year, please submit the form below. We look forward to hearing from you!
