Current UT Student Admission

Entering first-year students can apply to join the Chancellor's Honors Program after their first, second, third, or fourth semester is completed. A brief application and faculty letter of recommendation will be required.

Admission will be granted to applicants who meet the following criteria:

At the end of the first semester
Due by December 1

Completed FYS 129 (or equivalent) and a minimum 3.9 GPA

At the end of the second semester
Due by May 1

Completed FYS 129 (or equivalent), 2 honors courses, and minimum 3.85 GPA

At the end of the third semester
Due by December 1

Completed 3 honors courses and a minimum 3.80 GPA

At the end of the fourth semester
Due by May 1

Completed 4 honors courses and a minimum 3.75 GPA

Students admitted as a current student must meet the same program requirements as their peers admitted during first-year admissions.  The only exceptions are Chancellor’s Honors First-Year Seminar (UH 100) and English 118, which are waived for students who are awarded current student admission.
