Dr. Virginia Stormer is the Assistant Director for the 1794 Scholars Program. She has been with the Honors and Scholars Programs since 2015, when she started as an Honors Advisor. Before joining the Honors and Scholars Programs, she worked as the Coordinator for Undergraduate Research at the Tennessee Humanities Center and as a lecturer in the English Department at UT. Dr. Stormer received her B.A. in English and History from UNC-Chapel Hill, her M.A. in Renaissance Studies from the University of Alabama, and her Ph.D. in English Literature from UT.
Dr. Stormer is passionate about working with honors students to achieve their goals both inside and outside of the classroom. She is committed to helping students maximize the opportunities that UT and the 1794 Program offer.
When she is not in the office, Dr. Stormer enjoys running on Knoxville’s beautiful greenways, trying out new recipes, and cheering on her favorite sports teams.
