Grant Rigney

Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering

Biography

Grant Rigney is a professional musician who has won state and national championships on the fiddle and mandolin, performed over 400 concerts in more than ten different states with his family band, and released four CDs. He is very eager to study engineering and medicine. More specifically, he is eager to discover how he can use chemical engineering to improve the practice of medicine. He is particularly passionate about using his musical and academic blessings to serve others in the same way he has been served in the past. Grant served as the coordinator and teacher of his family's program that offers disadvantaged middle school students the opportunity to grow through learning how to play guitar at no cost to them for three years. Grant has recently been certified by the state of Tennessee as a nursing assistant, and is currently training to obtain his private pilot license. Looking past music, academics, and service, his identity is found solely in Jesus Christ.
