Anthropology, Pre-Med concentration

Biography

Brittany Vasquez majored in Anthropology with a pre-med concentration. For her honors thesis, Brittany will be working with the Forensic Anthropology Center, also known as the Body Farm, where she will research human decomposition in terms of body position in a project, entitled “The Effect of Upright Posture (Sitting Position) on Human Decomposition”.

Brittany attended the College of Medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center and currently serves as a Resident Physician at the Strong Memorial Hospital.

As an undergraduate, Brittany spent time interning at FAC under Dr. Lee Meadows Jantz where she helped work on the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System and gathered information from cold-case files currently housed at the University of Tennessee.

Brittany wrpte a weekly column for the Daily Beacon, was a member of Phi Kappa Phi, the Undergraduate Anthropology Association, and the Latin American Student Organization.
