Blair Kuykendall

College Scholars - Economics, Political Science, and Philosophy

Biography

Blair Kuykendall was a member of the College Scholars Program at the University of Tennessee and  developed a customized major entitled "International Dimensions of Corporate Litigation" under her faculty mentor, Dr. Otis Stephens.  Her unique major allowed Blair to continue her studies across economics, political science, and philosophy.

Blair was  appointed Editor in Chief of The Daily Beacon for the 2011-2012 academic year, and hopes to enhance its role in dialogue with the administration and faculty.  Along with volunteering at the UT College of Law's legal clinic, Blair also re-launched UT's Innocence Project, which singles out offenders with legitimate grounds for appeal who have exhausted other sources of legal aid.

Additionally, Blair serves on UT's Student Judiciary Board, serves as vice president of membership in the Honors Ambassadors Program, is one of her class's representatives on the Honors Council, and is a member of the editorial board for Pursuit. In summer 2011 Blair was awarded a research grant through the Office of Undergraduate Research to begin her project, "Effectiveness of OECD Industrial Regulation in Ensuring Compliance with ICESOR." Blair found the HSP study abroad trip to China to be "unforgettable", saying it "imparted a broader perspective on the development of globalization in the modern world."
