August 17, 2009 - Last Saturday, University Housing hosted the Learning Community retreat. Students from all of UT's learning communities gathered together in Circle Park to meet one another and enjoy shaved ice. The Honors Community stayed in Circle Park to learn more about the opportunities available in the coming year. Dr. Dandaneau, Associate Provost and Director of the Chancellor's Honors Program (CHP) welcomed the students of the Honors Community. Lori Johnson, Assistant Director of the CHP informed the students of the upcoming Honors 101 series that will enable them to make the most of their first semester at the university.
Kevin Tolliver and Michele Miller, President and Vice-President of the Honors Council informed the students of the freshman representative positions available on Honors Council. The students then played a game of "autograph bingo" where they were able to learn interesting facts about other students. The first four students to meet and receive the signatures of twenty-four of their peers were: Fourth place, Caitlin Farmer; third place, Esther Wong; second place Ashley Smith, and first place, Erika Finley (pictured at top, left to right).
