    • Beardsley Farm Community Service Event

      Howard Baker Center.
      Beardsley Community Farm is a local organization focused on sustainable gardening and agriculture in a downtown setting. On November 1st from 9 am-12 pm, the Honors Council Community Service Committee is taking up to 40 CHP students to the farm to volunteer. Volunteers will learn about gardening, composting, beekeeping, and other practices and will be able to assist with these tasks. Our service will help Beardsley fulfill its mission of promoting sustainable food production and donating fresh food to those in need. Sign up to volunteer on 11/1 using this form:
      Transportation will be provided, and vans will leave the Howard Baker Center at 8:30 am. The deadline to sign up is October 15th at 5 pm. Please email Natalie Bennett ( or Ashleigh Watson ( with any questions.

      The Honors Council is hosting our 2nd Annual Two Part Graduate School Workshop in November. The first part includes a presentation from Ms. Nichole Fazio-Veigel from 5-6pm in the Honors Seminar Room 118 on November 3rd. Ms. Fazio-Veigel is the Assistant Director for the Office of National Scholarships and Fellowship and a graduate of Oxford University.

      She will be presenting on how to improve and format your resume, personal statement, etc. and how to be more competitive for national awards and scholarships.
