Haslam Scholars Ariel Buehler and Lindsay Lee have been selected as UTK Torchbearers, the highest honor for undergraduate students that the university awards. This award recognizes graduating seniors who have exemplified academic excellence and service to the university and the community. Buehler and Lee are the seventh and eight Haslam scholars to receive the honor in the last three years.

Scholars also received a number of other recognitions at the Chancellor’s banquet, which honors seniors who have made significant contributions to the university.  Kathleen Connelly and Melissa Lee were recognized for their outstanding academic achievement. Melissa Lee and Brianna Rader received an awards “Extraordinary Campus Leadership and Service.” In addition, Ariel Buehler was recognized as a “Top Collegiate Scholar” and Melissa Lee for “Extraordinary Professional Promise.”
